Upgrade Process

Check whether a newer Beacon release is available, upgrade the Homebrew package, then repair endpoint configuration if you need to reapply service files or telemetry settings:

beacon endpoint repair
Repair restarts managed endpoint files and preserves runtime logs and harness telemetry configuration. If reinstall cannot complete, Beacon restores the previous endpoint configuration instead of leaving a partial repair state. After upgrading to v0.0.43 or newer, use beacon endpoint doctor --fix when you want Beacon to remediate supported health-check drift without reapplying the full endpoint configuration. Use beacon endpoint repair when you need to rewrite service files, collector configuration, harness telemetry settings, or forwarding destinations.

Endpoint telemetry

Configure the local endpoint agent and harnesses.

beacon mcp

Expose local Beacon activity through MCP after upgrading to v0.0.23 or newer.

beacon endpoint repair

Reapply service files and telemetry configuration.

beacon version

Print the installed version and check for released updates.
